Standards

In 1968, the RV industry commissioned hitch builder Reese to develop a series of tests concerning trailer towing loads.  Their findings became the V5 and SAEJ648, a pair of industry testing standards.  Not every company can claim such a thing, but the RV industry chose Reese because they had such high standards already.  Reese has carried those exacting standards across the decades to today's market.  So when you buy a Reese hitch or towing accessory, you're buying a standard-setter.

About Reese

TJ Reece opened the doors to his hitch business in 1952.  The towing community greeted Reece hitches with enthusiasm, and today Reece is America's premier hitching manufacturer.  And Reece has an interesting history of creating new products.  Over the years they've pioneered inventions like the aluminum trailer stabilizer jack, dual cam sway controls, and removable fifth wheel hitches.  Reese is based in Plymouth, Michigan.
