Choosing The Right Corsa Cat-Back Exhaust System:

Corsa make some of the best exhaust systems in the world, but choosing between bests is no easy task.  No matter which Corsa system you pick, it will be great, but will it be what you want?  Here’s a quick overview of the various exhaust systems built by a company born in a Corvette. 

Corsa’s simply named Sport system is their entry level exhaust, but it still offers a significant power increase.  In most cases, horsepower hikes up by 6, and torque by 7 lb-ft.  Flow is improved by 44%, and the signature Corsa exhaust note turns 99% of heads.  It’s available as either a cat-back or an axle-back.

One step up from the Sport is the Touring system.  Also available in both cat-back and axle-back arrangements, it offers more horsepower, more torque, and more sound.  But don’t worry about any droning as these Corsa systems get progressively louder.  Because Corsa invented RSC, a unique sound cancelling technology that targets certain drone-causing frequencies. 

At the top of the Corsa cake is the Xtreme system, available as either a cat-back or an axle-back system.  As you can imagine, the performance enhancement over stock is, well, extreme.  And the sound?  Also very extreme.  It does, however, retain the RSC sound cancelling system, so you won’t have to deal with any drone. 

Corsa’s very first production exhaust was used on the Corvette pace car for the 1998 Indianapolis 500.  As an homage to that revolutionary system, they now build their Pace axle-back system.  It offers, on average, a 10 hp improvement, along with an extra 11 lb-ft of torque.  Flow is increased by 50%.

But Corsa doesn’t just make car exhausts.  Their dB system, available in both cat-back and axle-back varieties, is specifically designed for trucks.  It offers a significant horsepower boost, and torque gets a shot to the arm, too (a definite plus in a truck).  But since it uses RSC, you won’t have to deal with the drone.   This is especially nice on long towing operations.
