The product box arrived a little banged up, but everything on the inside was great. The installation was a breeze, but I believe that is partly due to all of the reading I did about installing shifters prior to purchasing one. The instructions that came with this billet shifter, were for the non-billet hurst. There is no mention anywhere of install the shift stops (if you choose to do so). The photos were dark, distorted and just plain bad. Installation is rather simple, jack up the front of the car, put it on jack stands, remove 2 nuts, and 2 bolts (10mm deep socket, 13mm regular, and a 10mm ratcheting box wrench) One note on the removal of the front mount is that you need to leave enough space to remove the wrench if it is the kind that you have to flip over to ratchet the opposite way. If you loosen the bolt too much you will not be able to remove your wrench or get the bolt out. This happened to me as I had no idea how long the bolt was. The simplest solution to this that I found was to just loosen the tranny mount bracket (4 bolts) and move the tranny down slightly. Wrench came right off.

With the shifter in, I lowered the car back down and tackled it from the top. With everything back in its place, I took the car for a test drive. I i'm blown away. The shifts on this thing are amazing. I did several 2-3 shifts and a lot of 5-3 shifts without a hitch... The throws are short, but not too short. The chrome handle coupled with the white knob finish off the package nicely. The looks and quality of the shifter is top notch. I would recommend this shifter to anyone who wants shortened throws, classic muscle car looks and a shifting experience that will leave you asking how you lived without this.
