Comments about K&N 57-1000 Filtercharger Injection Performance Kit Cold Air Intake:
I have the ActiveAutoWerke exhaust and CAT also BAVAUTO ignition coils installed. For years I have had the stock box air intake with a K&n box filter. I bought this kit and took it easy at first for about 5 miles got the engine warmed up, shifting at 3k and then I opened it up and the car has a major tone change and response change. I went from 25.3 mpg to 27.7 mpg driving in a 65mph zone. This was with out cruise control and the a/c running. I have not dyno tested the car yet but I know from what I have felt that the car gained some power. Over all this system has exceeded what I was expecting and I will purchase again for future vehicles.
I have noticed that the exhaust shows water vapor when you don't let it warm up and the car doesn't burn oil. I think with the increase of air flow I just need to work on getting the fuel mixture down/ programming/chipset. Either way once it is warm the car works great and doesn't show signs of vapor. This could also be a result of the CAT being a less restricktive unit.
