All the parts need for the install were there and sized correctly for my truck. The instructions seem a little vague when I first read them but were plenty adequate when following them during the install. I've had the system in for a little over a month now and have had no issues. Thanks great product

I just recently purchased and installed a PL8340 for my 2006 Dodge Ram. While i am happy with the power tailgate lock itself, I was less than thrilled with the instructions that come with it. They were, for the most part, complete enough for me to follow along but i had to re-read them several times and check it a few more times while doing the install. The biggest problem with the entire install is the wire coloring. First off, the color of the wires from one harness to the next didn't match. A blue wire coming off of the lock itself should not have to be plugged into a brown wire on the small harness, which in turn does not match a brown wire on the relay harness. It is a poor choice in design and leaves the weekend mechanic scratching his head for about 5 minutes. The next major issue is the description of what color wires to look for in the kick panel. The instructions gave several color combinations for a 2004 thru 2009 Ram and NONE of them were correct for my truck(2006 Ram). If it weren't for the internet forums and the fact that I took my door panel off looking for the wires going to my power door lock, I would have most likely sent it back for a refund as I'm not about to just start tapping into wires connected to the canbus on the truck. Now that it is installed, I can say I love the addition to my truck. Combined with my bed cover I have the security of a 6 1/2 foot trunk. I would give the lock itself 5 out of 5 stars but as for the instructions, they would get a 1 out of 5 which includes who ever's idea it was to use different colored wires in the harnesses. Pop and Lock needs to make a change to the instructions to at least give the CORRECT color wires FOR EACH YEAR to tap into on the truck.
