Poor fit on Toyota Tacoma Pre-runner w/ext. cab

Comments about Westin 23-2670 Polished Stainless Steel E-Series Dual Step Nerf Step Bars:

Prompt service from Streetside. Everything was great for this product except FUNCTION. The unit was so close to the rocker panel there was no room for my foot. Also, it was about 4 inches below the factory built-in running board so what do you gain on the unit from ground level to easily access the Tacoma pre-runner with an extended cab. I contacted Westin and they said that they were aware of this problem and I should contact them in 30 to 45 days. If the product does not work, why do they continue to sell it. This vehicle has been around for a number of years and don't understand why they haven't changed the mounting bracket to fix the problem. I'm not an engineer, but I can fix this problem in about 5 minutes with a redsigned bracket.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
